Day trips from Glastonbury

Glastonbury sits in the middle of Somerset, which makes it a good base for exploring the county. Wells, England's smallest city, with its cathedral and moated Bishop's Palace, is a ten minute drive. The Georgian city of Bath, with the Roman Baths and Royal Crescent, is under an hour. Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole caves are both around half an hour away, and the Somerset Levels, with their wetland nature reserves and winter starling murmurations, start on the edge of town.
